paintings are really great! I love the Abstract Expressionist style & I'm
a big Rothko fan. You're work has a lot in common with his--though, of

I am a
very new user of this kind of communication. I am a ceramic artist. I've
spent a few years focusing on form. Now I've just recently found that when
people out side my family view my work (a first for me) they are so moved
that for awhile I thought that kind of impact could be dangerous. But people
say the revelation is thrilling and they enjoy the way it makes them see
things, think of things. I wanted to say something to my daughters on what I
found to be beautiful and relevent in nature. Work that is not gendure
spesific, but that seems so far to have a very definate appeal to a spirtual
sence. To pull off the awarness for a capicity for harmony, shockingly simple
and beautful. I'm only 30 years old, that is the only thing that people seem
to find difficult to believe. I explain, when my family made a choice to only
give me exposure to what they as religion and philosophy professors, found to
be relevent. Getting to the guts of things very rapidly became a fasination.
I protected myself from contact with other people and their agends for the
last half of my 20's. Not watching t.v. and not ever having used a computer
untill just a few days ago, I'm thrilled a bit to see other peoples work. To
see what they are hoping to communicate with their ablity to reach out in
some way. I like what you said about your work. A few days ago a 50 year old
man who claimed to be a very profound seeker came to my studio and had an
opposite reaction within himself after viewing my sculptures of faces. You
touched on the importance of emotional response. As I grow closer to the
point where it will vital for me to share, I'm looking at what other people
are sharing. The computer may or may not be a good way to do this, I don't
know yet it seems to require alot of sitting still... Yours is only the
second artist I've visited. It will be interesting to see if I still find the
same things valid after all the exposure you can have when you "plug in
to everthing" Thank you for the opportunity to view what you have found
